They’re back!

When they closed the doors on their popular Dynasty Restaurant in June 2012, Melissa and Kevin Quan said they would soon reopen in a new location.

Their many loyal customers have since been panting in anticipation.

More than a year has passed, but now the Guans are in the final stages of fulfilling that promise, with the new Dynasty Restaurant set to re-open in the former home of the Islander Pizza, 380 E. Washington St.

“I can’t wait to go back to work,” Melissa said.

They’re working daily to repaint the interior and lay some new carpet for an opening planned for late October or early November.

After operating their restaurant in the QFC Shopping Center for eight years, the Quans were forced by a lease dispute to close up shop in June 2012.

This time they aren’t taking any chances. With the help of family members, they purchased the former Islander building, the expansive parking lot and the metal building behind the restaurant that now hosts Tom’s Garage.

Guan said the menu will largely be the same as the one that brought in a loyal crowd at the old location.

She added that they will not be operating the Islander’s former bar.
