In honor of Washington state glass artist Dale Chihuly, this Saturday the Sequim Farmers Market will celebrate Chihuly’s Birthday month. The artist is well-known for the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit in the Seattle Center, a 100-foot installation inside of greenhouse that’s one of Chihuly’s largest suspended sculptures.
To celebrate, the market will have cake for guests to enjoy at the market booth. Zarit Glassworks is the sponsor of this event.
When you are at the market this weekend, drop over to see Susan Zarit and her husband Steve Zarit with Zarit Glassworks. Susan creates stained glass and fused glass art. She also designs one of a kind powder printed fused glass art. At her booth you will find beautifully, hand-crafted dishes, bowls, plates, vases, jewelry and much more. Susan originally began her career as a French and History teacher. Her passion, however, has always been in glass art and now she spends her time creating art.
She specializes in custom artwork and her award winning work has been sold nation-wide, as well as internationally. A percentage of every sale is donated to charity.
‘Jam’ at the market
The Summer Live Music series continues with Jam and Toast. Jam & Toast is a paired down version of the band, Bread & Gravy and consists of Northwest locals Angela Clift (vocals) and Stephanie Doenges (guitar, ukulele and vocals).
Bread & Gravy is a five and sometimes six member band that plays a wide variety of old and new, high energy, soulful music. Jam & Toast is a smaller version of that with more influences on older traditional type music made new and focuses on beautiful melody and harmony.
