As a Sequim High School alumna moving to Los Angeles four years ago to further my career after college I prided myself on being from a small, supportive community in the Northwest. After yesterday’s (April 22) failure to pass our proposed school bond I am beginning to rethink that.
My sister is one of the youngest teachers in the Sequim School District who wanted to move back to Sequim to have a lifelong teaching career and raise her future children with her husband. It’s a shame my future nieces and nephews will have their education in a rundown facility and my sister will be left teaching her high school students in a less than mediocre environment. These children are the future of our community.
Shame on you Sequim.
