Will our republic stand?

I strongly disagree with many of the statements expressed in the letter published Dec. 20 titled “Freedoms ‘taken for granted?’” (Sequim Gazette, page A-9).

First, the U.S. is not a democracy, which is actually mob rule and does not protect the rights of minority groups. This country is a representative republic, governed by a set of rules as laid down by our 1789 Constitution — that is if we can keep it, as Benjamin Franklin declared long ago.

Today with so many crazed judges and elected officials who either ignore the Constitution, are ignorant of its contents, or are incapable of understanding plain English, we are indeed very close to losing our republic.

Secondly, I disagree with this writer’s negative opinion of Trump. I’m in my 70s and will say he was the greatest president of my lifetime. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the current guy occupying the White House is by far, hands down, the worst president not only of my time, but in all of American history.

He easily qualifies as an American traitor of historic proportions never before seen.

He has brought about a total illegal invasion of this country by millions from around the globe, including untold numbers of military aged men from enemy countries that many believe are being pre-positioned inside America to carry out destructive sabotage operations in the near future.

This is only the tip of the iceberg, space does not allow me to detail what a total disaster this traitor has been to this country. Anyone voting for this guy or any Democrat today is simply ignorant of what they stand for.
