Tap classes offered

Tap dance classes with instructor Marianne Trowbridge are scheduled every Tuesday at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road. Cost is $20/month for beginning (9 a.m.) or advanced (10 a.m.) classes. Drop-ins are welcome.

 

‘Songbook’ featured

Emblem 3 appears on ‘X Factor’

Local band Emblem 3 — Drew Chadwick, Wesley Stromberg and Keaton Stromberg — is set to appear on Fox network’s"X Factor" at 8 p.m. on either Sept. 12 or Sept. 13. The network would not release which day the group would appear. The band originally was scheduled to appear on "America’s Got Talent." "X Factor" allows musicians to compete for a $5 million recording contract with Sony Music.

 

P.A. hosts Blues Festival

The Port Angeles Blues Festival is Friday-Saturday, Sept. 14-15 at the Clallam County Fair Grounds.

Musicians include Richard Allen and the Louisiana Experience; the West Coast Women’s Blues Revue with Alice Stuart, Lady A, Vicki Stevens and Teri Anne Wilson; The Lloyd Jones Struggle, The Delta Rays, The Strange Tones, the Cruzin Bluzers and Nick Vigarino. Community Christmas Chorus open

Sequim Community Christmas Chorus holds its first rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Sequim Bible Church, 847 N. Sequim Ave. All are welcome; no auditions. The chorus presents three performances Nov. 29-Dec. 1.

 

Centennial art exhibit invites entries

The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley seeks entries in all media for “Sequim Reflections,” its Centennial-themed art exhibit on display in November. Artists choose from seven historical images of Sequim-Dungeness Valley landmarks and events to interpret. Find the images at www.macsequim.org; quality photocopies are provided with the entry form at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim.

Entries are accepted from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the MAC Exhibit Center.  Entry fee is $15 for up to three pieces. Call 683-8110 for more information.
