Singing group tour makes Sequim stop
The Coats, a national touring a cappella singing group, are coming to Sequim on Dec. 10. Group members work with Sequim High School choir students during the day, then take part in a concert in the SHS auditorium (533 N. Sequim Ave.) at 7 p.m.
The concert features Sequim High’s choir singers to open the show, followed by The Coats. Tickets are $10 for students with an ASB card and $15 for adults. The high school choir and The Coats are splitting the proceeds.
‘Flicks’ brings ‘The Robinsons’
Family Flicks, a the North Olympic Library System series, brings “Meet the Robinsons” to the screen at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
The 2007 computer-animated film tells the story of a young inventor named Lewis who sets off on a time-traveling journey to find the family he never knew. Lewis discovers that the fate of the future rests in his hands, but he can’t save it alone: He’ll need every bit of help he can get from the wacky Robinson family, who help him learn to keep moving forward and never stop believing in himself.

Bus service to symphony concerts
The Port Angeles Symphony will offer charter bus service from Sequim beginning with its Dec. 12 concert and is expected to run the rest of the season. The price is $18.75 per person and the pick-ups are at 6:30 p.m. at the Gathering Place in Sunland and 6:40 p.m. at Walmart.

Crafts at PA library
Enjoy an afternoon of paper crafts, hot tea and good company at the Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. CreativiTea at the library will have attendees using discarded book pages to create holiday-themed crafts, including ornaments, garlands, bows and gift tags. T
here will be plenty of time to chat, sip and add personal touches to your works with a variety of stamps, inks, and other supplies. CreativiTea is a free program and all ages are welcome to attend.
Poet speaks at PC
Peninsula College’s Studium Generale presents “A Celebration of Study Abroad” with International Studies advisor Val Conroy and PC student John Pritchard III from 12:35-1:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in Peninsula College’s Little Theater. Pritchard has published a collection of poems and will talk about his experiences in studying abroad.
The event is free and open to the public.
‘Cats’ play at the Fifth
The Fifth Avenue, 500 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim, invites you to come dance or simply enjoy the sounds of The Cat’s Meow Band from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. The group includes a 3-piece rhythm section that accompanies their saxophone and trumpet front line.
Poetry contest under way
Poets of all ages and levels of experience from Clallam and Jefferson counties are invited to participate in the second annual Rainshadow Poetry Contest. Deadline for submitting poetry is 5 p.m., Jan. 22, 2016.
Write about anything that inspires you. Winning poems will be presented at a public reading at Olympic Theatre Arts on May 1, 2016.
