Jazz takes P.C. stage
Jazz saxophonist and flutist Mark Lewis will give a concert of his own compositions at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in Maier Performance Hall on the Peninsula College campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. Lewis will be backed at this concert by the David Jones Jazz Trio: David P. Jones (P.C. faculty) on piano and keyboards, Ted Enderle on bass and Terry Smith on drums.

ONP skiing book is topic of ‘Tales talk
Roger Oakes will talk about his new book “Skiing in Olympic National Park” at the Clallam County Historical Society’s History Tales lecture series at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the First United Methodist Church, 110 E. Seventh St., Port Angeles. Parking and entry to the church’s social hall are on Laurel Street. All royalties from the publication are being donated to the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Education Foundation.

Author to speak at P.A. Library
Renowned Washington author and former Port Angeles resident Mary Daheim is the featured speaker at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Raymond Carver Room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
Daheim, a Seattle resident and author of 55 books, will discuss her work and writing process, her latest projects and answer audience questions as part of the library’s ongoing Adult Winter Reading Program.

Jazz at the PUB
Peninsula College plays host to “Jazz at the PUB,” a regularly-scheduled, informal concert given by the Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. David P. Jones, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3. The concert is in the Pirate Union Building on Peninsula College’s main campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
