Soul Posse at the grange

The band Soul Posse will be performing at the Sequim Prairie Grange Hall from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19. Cost is $10 per person; food is provided. The Grange Hall is at 290 Macleay Road, Sequim.

Fourth Friday set

The next Fourth Friday Readings is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, at The Lodge’s Media Room, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, Sequim. The event is designed for an open-mic style night of 5-minute readings; bring poems, short-stories or memoir/novel snippets. Rehearse in advance, as readings are timed. Avian photos on exhibit

The 2016 National Avian Photographs, as awarded by the National Audubon Society, will be on exhibit in lobby of the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., from March 27-April 13. The 12 winning photographs were selected from over 7,000 entries, submitted from all 50 states and Canada. The winning photographs originally were published in the May-June 2016 issue of Audubon magazine and have been touring the country on exhibit. Winning photographs were graded on technical quality, originality and artistic merit. Meet grand prize winner Bonnie Block from Gig Harbor at the Civic Center for First Friday from 5-7 p.m. April 7.

“Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” by Jamie Ford is the book up for discussion at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. All are welcome to drop in and participate. Copies of the book are available in various formats, including regular print, large print, e-book and audio e-book. Seven-site B&B tour tickets on sale now

The Port Angeles Symphony Guild will host a fundraising event — a seven-site Bed &Breakfast Tour, from noon-3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15. Tour participants will explore a variety of Sequim-area inns including Colette’s, the George Washington Inn, the Dungeness Barn House, GreenHouse Inn by the Bay, Eden by the Sea, Sea Cliff Gardens and Domaine Madeleine. Admission to the tour is $25 per person including refreshments at each stop. Only 175 tickets will be sold. Carpooling is encouraged, as are reservations in advance. Ticket sales start March 15; to purchase, call 457-5579 or 681-4308.

Ballet classic to hit Port Angeles stage

The Juan de Fuca Foundation and Ballet Workshop present “The Sleeping Beauty” at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 25, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave. Tickets range from $15-$35 (youth 14 and under are $10) Ticket outlets are at jffa.org (online) Port Book and News (Port Angeles) Joyful Noise Music (Sequim). Featuring over 90 Clallam County ballet dancers, this show also will include Lauren Ostrander of the National Ballet of Canada and Hansuke Yamamoto of San Francisco Ballet.
