Strait Country Music Series to kick off Friday
The “Strait Country Music Series,” a partnership between the Field Arts & Events Hall and KSTI “The Strait Country” 102.1 FM, features Jamie O’Neal on March 22 and Britnee Kellogg on May 16.
O’Neal, a platinum album-selling, four-time Grammy-nominated country singer and hit songwriter, rose to fame in 2001 with her back-to-back No. 1 singles “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels.” She has earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including ACM and Billboard awards, and appearances on national television shows such as The Tonight Show and The Late Show with David Letterman.
On March 22, Jamie O’Neal will bring her cross-country tour to Port Angeles to perform in the brand-new Donna M. Morris Theater. She has invited local musicians Amanda Lynn Bacon and Todd Ortloff to introduce her and provide a short opening act.
“We thought of this as a series within a series – like the “Queens of Country” within the Strait Country Music Series. We’re focused on presenting more country artists and for these first three concerts we selected three incredible female performers. The talent and the audience response has been amazing; we hope this is just the beginning,” said Steve Raider-Ginsburg, Executive & Artistic Director at Field Hall.
Wrapping up the “Queens of Country” mini-series is country singer-songwriter Kellogg, who was born and raised in Vancouver, Wa., and has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Blake Shelton, Eric Paslay, Lee Brice, Kane Brown, Little Big Town and Keith Urban. She was also featured on Season 11 and Season 12 of American Idol.
Tickets for both performances are now available at fieldhallevents.org/tickets or at the box office at the Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front St, Port Angeles. Box office hours are 10a.m-2 p.m., Thursday-Saturday.
