OPAS potluck set
The Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society will meet at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17, for a potluck dinner followed by the program at 7 p.m., at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, in Sequim.
The program, “Enjoying Nature Through Photography,” will be presented by Hal Everett, a well-traveled, serious amateur wildlife and underwater photographer whose favorite subjects include swans, raptors and rare sea creatures. His images have won numerous awards. He also led several photographic workshops during the 2014 BirdFest.
Bring a dish to share and your own place setting. The meeting is free and open to the public.
New exhibit at PAFAC
The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center presents ceramic artists Heidi Preuss Grew from Salem, Ore., featuring her exhibition “Into the Wilderness” from Sept. 18-Nov. 2, at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
Preuss Grew will give a presentation at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the gallery followed by the reception at 5:30 p.m. that will be free and open to the public.

‘Buck’ at the Grange
The Buck Ellard Band will be playing at a dance from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Sequim Prairie Grange Hall, 290 Macleay Road. Cost is $10 per person, $15 a couple or $25 a family. Children under 12 years of age get in free. Food will be provided.
Calling all car enthusiasts
The South County Classic Cruisers will have its ninth annual Show and Shine from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, on the baseball field behind the Quilcene School, 294715 U.S. Highway 101, Quilcene.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. and there’s a $10 entry fee per vehicle. All classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, exotics and bikes are welcome.
There also will be a Burn Out Show at 3 p.m. behind the high school, $5 entry fee.
