Gala to raise funds

Olympic Medical Center Foundation and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance present "An Evening in the Pacific Northwest" Saturday, Oct. 23, at Sunland Golf and Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive, Sequim.

Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. Dinner follows at 6:45 p.m.

Todd Ortloff of KONP Newsradio 1450 hosts the evening, which raises funds for Olympic Medical Cancer Center patients at the Thomas Family Cancer Center.

Sprout Touring Film Festival

Snap, a local nonprofit organization empowering self-advocates with developmental disabilities and families, presents The Sprout Touring Film Festival from New York City beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Port Angeles High School auditorium, 304 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles.

The free festival con-tinues throughout the day. Sequimarimba performs at 3 p.m.

The goal of Sprout Films is to make "The Invisible Visible" through professional films of artistry and humanity and reinforce accurate portrayals of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Blue Whole Gallery auction

Blue Whole Gallery hosts its first gala art auction 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, in the parish hall at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

Watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, fused glass and jewelry are offered in both silent and live auctions.

Live auction pieces are displayed in the gallery, 129 W. Washington St., Sequim.

Blue Whole Gallery jewelry artist Coffee Miklos will be the auctioneer.

The evening features easy listening jazz, door prizes, hors d’oeuvres and unveiling of gallery members’ new works of art.

Tickets are $20 per person, available at the gallery.

All proceeds support the operation of the gallery, an artist’s co-operative.

Dance class changes time

The Middle Eastern Dancers class at Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Sequim, moves to 5-7 p.m. Wednesdays starting Oct. 20.

Beginners are welcome and invited to attend wearing loose, casual clothing.

The fee is $4 for center members and $5 for nonmembers. Call 683-6806.
