Family Film Night at DRNC
The Dungeness River Nature Center invites families to a special Earth Week film screening of “The Wild Robot” on Saturday, April 19th, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Rainshadow Hall. This event is free, but registration is recommended. Donations are welcome to support the Center’s educational programming.
Based on the beloved children’s book, “The Wild Robot” tells the story of Roz, a highly intelligent robot who is stranded on a remote, uninhabited island after a shipwreck. To survive, Roz must adapt to the wilderness and befriend the island’s animal inhabitants, forming an unexpected bond with an orphaned baby goose along the way.
The screening will include family-friendly accommodations, such as coloring pages, carpet squares for young viewers, and traditional theater seating. The movie’s runtime is one hour and 42 minutes.
Guests are invited to arrive early at 3:30 p.m. for a hands-on craft activity before the show. Participants can create their own “nature crown” using provided materials and take their wearable artwork home.
