BirdQuest and Scavenger Hunt soar April 1-11
For its third year, organizers of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Merchant Group’s BirdQuest matching game and Eagle Eyes Scavenger Hunt are having the events from April 1-11 so more people can get involved before and during the annual BirdFest April 10-12.
For BirdQuest, players will use a game card to match wild bird figurines made by Sequim High School students in Jake Reichner’s ceramics class at 11 local businesses. Upon completion, players will drop off their cards at The Co-op Farm & Garden for a chance to win the grand prize – a scenic airplane tour.
One winner will be drawn at 12:30 p.m. on April 12 at the Dungeness River Audubon Center. No purchase necessary. Must be 18 and up to win. Participants also can vote for their favorite birds with the top three students winning prizes.
Participating businesses for the BirdQuest Game are A Dropped Stitch, Blue Whole Gallery, Colors of Sequim, Fieldnotes, Hart’s Fine Books, Heather Creek, Pacific Pantry, Purple Haze Downtown, Sequim Spice & Tea, Solar City and That Takes the Cake.
For the Eagle Eyes Scavenger Hunt, children 12 and under can receive a game card at participating businesses and look for 12 eagles. Each time they find an eagle, they get their game card stamped. With 10 stamps, they are eligible to enter into a random prize drawing for free entrance into a summer camp at the River Center, a private tour of the Northwest Raptor & Wildlife Center and free tickets to the Olympic Game Farm. All drawings are held the same day and winners need not be present to win.
