Six artists new to the Blue Whole Gallery — and with varying work backgrounds — are in the limelight at the Blue Whole Gallery’s exhibit in October.

Dubbed “Bright and Beautiful,” the show highlights artistry from an environmental specialist, a certified public accountant, a dentist, a mother, an animal shelter co-founder and a product development specialist.

Terri Biondolino, Jeff Considine, Laura Moore, Nancy Peet, Shayna Robnett and Randy Tierney will feature their artwork during October. Met the artists and celebrate the exhibit opening from 58 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 at the gallery, 129 W. Washington St., during the First Friday Art Walk Sequim.

Or, visit the gallery during its regular hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sundays.

Gallery representatives note that this group has art as diverse as their former and, in one case, current careers.

Peet, Robnett and Tierney are painters. Peet is a watercolorist focusing on bright florals; Robnet’s art reflects her love of the Olympic Peninsula in landscape oils; Tierney’s work is based in the Sumi painting style and tradition.

Biondolino’s expertise is centered in a challenging form of porcelain — specifically, colored clay known as Nerikomi. Considine designs and creates unique wooden boxes. Laura Moore uses everything she sees in nature to design and create her jewelry.
