Spirit Halloween fills former Grocery Outlet

Spirit Halloween, a seasonal retailer with more than 1,450 locations, opened Aug. 20 in the former Grocery Outlet building at 1045 W. Washington St. It’s open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. Saturday, and noon- 6 p.m. Sunday.

A spokesperson for Spirit said each store hires 16-30 seasonal employees and 35,000-plus employees for all its U.S. and Canadian locations.

The store offers costumes, accessories, animatronics, decor and more for fall and Halloween (this year on a Monday).

The company was acquired by Spencer Gifts, LLC in 1999 and grown from 63 locations, according to its website. Read more at spirithalloween.com.

Ulta Beauty reopens in Sequim

Former Sequim retailer Ulta Beauty reopened at 1065 W. Washington St. on Aug. 19. Hours are 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Monday-Wednesday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Curbside hours are 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. Sunday; and 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

According to its website, Ulta is the largest specialty beauty retailer in the U.S. offering products for hair care, makeup, nail, skin care, fragrances, and more, along with various beauty services.

The store originally opened in May 2018 in the Sequim Village Marketplace before closing in early 2020. According to its website, a few full- and part-time and temporary positions remain open at careers.ulta.com. Representatives for the company could not be reached.
