Ceres Dance Theatre sets Sequim show

Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim, opens the first production of “Chandelier” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28, presented by the Ceres Dance Theatre, a professional touring company based in Port Townsend.

The dance show itself is inspired by the Golden Years of Entertainment in the first act and modern society and dance in the second.

An especially designed stage will feature speed tapping developed with inspiration by Ann Miller, a great dancer from the 1940s-1950s, by principal dancer Rose Kelly.Tickets are $18.50-$20 at the door or by calling 683-7326 with 10 percent of proceeds benefiting low-income children in Port Townsend.

On Nov. 27 at 7 p.m., the company’s soprano Dotti Holland will perform a review of vocals from several Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals and Stephen Sondheim’s work.

A charge of $10 per ticket benefits Ten Star Productions and Food Life Line at the Port Townsend Food Bank. Tickets are available at the Kitsap Credit Union, Port Townsend; and Olympic Theatre Arts, Sequim.

The touring company will tour Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles, Bainbridge Island and Port Ludlow.
