Chorale concert offers up ‘Sounds of Heaven’

The NorthWest Women’s Chorale presents its holiday concert, “Listen to the Sounds in Heaven,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 , at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave.

An eclectic selection of seasonal songs from around the world in varying styles, the pieces are arranged for women’s voices and showcase the group.

In its 11th year, the 25-member chorale made up of Sequim and Port Angeles residents is directed by Joy Lingerfelt and accompanied by collaborative pianist Kristin Quigley Brye and Patti Monson on flute. Chorale member Janessa Fodge joins the pianist for two duet accompaniments.

The chorale is performing a piece arranged by Sequim’s own Linda Dowdell, as well as several pieces by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.

Those who miss the Sequim performance can catch up with the chorale for a second holiday concert set for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Suggested donation for both concerts is $15.
