City of Sequim seeking exhibit entries from high school artists

The Sequim Arts Commission is seeking art entries in any medium for the sixth-annual High Schools of the Olympic Peninsula Arts Exhibit.

The exhibit, to be showcased in the Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery at the Sequim Civic Center in early 2025, is open to high school students on the North Olympic Peninsula from Port Townsend to Forks, in a range of mediums, including — but not limited to — ceramics, stained glass, painting, drawing, metal fabrication, fabric weaving and glass.

Student-artists are encouraged to submit art pieces they created during the 2024-2025 school year. Cash awards will be distributed to the top three works of art, juried by the Sequim Arts Commission.

Deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15. Only digital applications will be considered. To enter, complete the form at form.jotform.com/242886920070156, which allows the download of up to two images (300 dpi preferred) per entry.

All entries will be juried by the Sequim Arts Commission on Jan. 27, and artists will be notified of their status by Jan. 29. Artists/arts teachers will contacted to schedule the delivery of artwork.

All student artists, their teachers, and family will be invited to the artist reception and awards ceremony on Friday, Feb. 7.
