Coats For Kids & Community were honored to be a part of the Veterans Stand Down, held Oct. 5 at the Clallam County Fairgrounds in Port Angeles.

Group members handed out 50, $25 gift cards for apparel (coats, shoes, socks, underwear and clothing), as well as dental items donated by Jamestown Dental Clinic, small bars of soap, hand sanitizer, hand lotion and coffee from Quality Inn in Sequim, water from Costco and popcorn from Bill’s Plumbing.

“It was a great turn out with at least 175 veterans attending,” members noted. “There were many resources and services there to offer help and guidance.

“Coats For Kids & Community are grateful for our veterans and will continue to support them and this event.”
