Peninsula College’s Magic of Cinema hosts two special screenings of films from “Water, Water Everywhere: Paean to a Vanishing Resource” on Friday, Nov. 15.

The first screening is from 3-5:45 p.m. and is free. The evening screening will be from 7-9:30 p.m. Admission to evening showing is $5 general admission, free to students.

“Water, Water Everywhere: Paean to a Vanishing Resource” is a new media exhibition and film festival comprised of 30-second to 30-minute films from 45 artists worldwide. It explores water issues from the political to the personal and ethics to aesthetics, with works that are documentary, experimental, educational, humorous, solemn, animated or acted. Altogether, the films total four hours and 52 minutes.

The afternoon screening includes “We’re All Downstream,” which is comprised primarily of documentaries. There will be a 10-minute intermission, followed by “Our Cup Runneth,” which emphasizes metaphor. The evening screening begins with “Every Drop a World,” which centers on emotional resonance. A 10-minute intermission will be followed by the final showing, which is “A Commons. A Public Trust. A Human Right.” It focuses on community.

The film “April” will be running in a continuous loop on a monitor in the PUB Gallery of Art, sharing space with other work related to water curated by P.C. art professor Michael Paul Miller.
