David Sedaris headlines humanities benefit

David Sedaris, best-selling author of "Naked," "Me Talk Pretty One Day," "When You are Engulfed in Flames," and "Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk:  A Modest Bestiary," will be at Port Angeles High School Auditorium on Thanksgiving Eve to support the Jefferson County Clemente Course in the Humanities, a free, award-winning college program for low income students.

Tickets will be on sale through Brown Paper Tickets, at Quimper Sound in Port Townsend and at Port Book and News in Port Angeles.

“We are certainly anticipating a sellout, and we want to get the word our early so our local audience, students and friends of the Clemente Course have a chance to get good tickets," said Clemente’s Academic Director Lela Hilton.

All tickets will be reserved: premium reserved tickets are $50, in the first 10 rows, and include automatic entry in a holiday raffle and a priority queue for the book signing. General reserved tickets are $30 and student tickets are $15.

The Jefferson Clemente Course in the Humanities is part of an international program that provides free college humanities courses to low-income students. It is accredited by Bard College and successful students receive transferrable college credits. All tuition, books, childcare and transportation costs as needed are provided to qualified students.
