Elvis coming to Sequim’s Sherwood

Robbie Dee, an acclaimed Elvis Presley tribute artist based in Seattle, comes to Sequim’s Sherwood Assisted Living for a “rock and roll extravaganza” starting at 2:30 p.m on Saturday, May 18, at 550 West Hendrickson Road, Sequim WA.

An Elvis fan ever since seeing the movie “Blue Hawaii” as a teenager growing up in Edmonds, Dee began collecting Elvis records and started singing along. But it wasn’t until the age of 27 that Robbie took the stage for the first time. After some persuasion from friends, he sang “Viva Las Vegas” at a karaoke night.

In 2013, Dee was invited to a bigger stage to play with a live band at MoPop (formerly EMP/Experience Music Project). Robbie competed in the Seattle Elvis Invitationals – Seattle’s search for the best Elvis Tribute Artist. He won the event in 2015.

Since then, he’s been performing at festivals, corporate events, private parties, and other venues throughout the

Northwest, including Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Bellevue and Canada.

Dee performs songs from Elvis’ entire career, including his early years (1950s), movie years (1960s), Comeback Special (1968), and Vegas years (1970s).

“We are delighted to host Robbie Dee at Sherwood Assisted Living,” said Janaye Birkland, marketing director at Sherwood Assisted Living. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for our residents and the local community to come together and enjoy the timeless music of Elvis Presley.”

Attendees can indulge in complimentary appetizers prepared by the chefs of Sherwood Assisted Living.

“We’re pulling out all the stops to ensure this event is a memorable experience for everyone,” Birklamd said.

Admission is free and no RSVP is required.
