Catholic churches set events

Liturgy of the Hours will be offered before all Masses during Advent at both Saint Joseph and Queen of Angels Catholic churches.

Prayers will begin with the Holy Rosary 40 minutes before the start of Mass, with the Liturgy of the Hours prayers beginning 20 minutes before Mass.

“Please join us as we prepare with hope and anticipation for the Nativity of the Lord this Christmas,” organizers say.

Mass times at Saint Joseph are 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:30 a.m. on Sundays. Mass times at Queen of Angels are 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. on Sundays.

Community members are invited to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Saint Joseph Church. Mañanitas will begin at 6 a.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. In the evening, Holy Mass will be at 6 p.m. followed by a potluck.

The Filipino Catholic Community of Queen of Angels and Saint Joseph Churches cordially invites you to join the 2023 Annual Simbang Gabi Holy Mass and Celebration at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Queen of Angels Church.

Advent Penitential Services, with confessions heard, are set for noon-4 p.m. at Queen of Angeles and noon-3:45 p.m. at St. Joseph, both on Saturday, Dec. 16.

In addition, the Queen of Angeles School hosts a Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Queen of Angels Church. Doors open at 6 p.m.
