Gospel singer to be featured at Trinity United Methodist

A Gospel vocalist who grew up singing for food on war-torn streets in Liberia will perform in the 10 a.m. service Sunday, June 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

Lasana Kanneh was born blind and faced poverty and abuse as a child, but his musical talent was recognized early.

He gradually developed a distinct Gospel style that contains elements of reggae and blues. His songs illustrate obstacles he has faced and how he confronted them with resilience and faith.

Earlier in his career, Kanneh toured with Liberian vocal groups in the United States. He now lives in Vancouver, Washington.

The service will be live-streamed and can be accessed through a link on the church website (sequimtumc.org).
