Putting a spotlight on the Olympic Peninsula’s musical talent, Field Arts & Events Hall is starting up WA Local Concerts, a program that seeks to “elevate local musicians and provide affordable, accessible, and enjoyable experiences. “
The inaugural “WA Local Concert” is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 , featuring two local favorites: The Randall Wolf Band and Deadwood Revival. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at fieldhallevents.org/tickets.
“Field Hall is here for the people and artists of Port Angeles, and we’re excited to honor that through this series,” said Kayla Oakes, Director of Education and Artistic Engagement.
“We’re blessed with an enormous wealth of local talent and it’s incredible to provide these artists with a facility that allows them to really shine.”
Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles, will be open to the public from noon-11 p.m. on Sept. 29, and will celebrate the soft-openings of both the Field Hall Café (noon-4 p.m.) as well as Happy Hour in the Sunset Bar & Lounge (4-6 p.m.). The Sunset Bar & Lounge will remain open to the public during the performance until 11 p.m. The Field Hall Gallery, currently exhibiting “sčáy ʔaʔ cə nəxʷsƛ̕áy̕əm ʔay̕c̕ɬtáyŋxʷ” (or “Creations of the Klallam People”), will also be open from noon-4 p.m.
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, The Randall Wolf Band is described as a “powerhouse rock band with a distinctive Southern twist.” Former in 2022, The Randall Wolf Band is comprised of brothers Joshua Randall Wilson-Turner and Jeremiah Wolf Wilson-Turner, along with Kevin Parker and Colt Smith.
“The Randall Wolf Band is tickled to be the first band featured in Field Hall’s WA Local Series,” a representative for The Randall Wolf Band said. “We have followed the construction of this landmark theater and now that it’s operating, we get to watch Field Hall plant roots in our hometown community.”
Opening for The Randall Wolf Band, Deadwood Revival is the duo of Kim Trenerry and Jason Mogi, a pair “on a mission to redefine the unmistakable sounds that once dominated the old-time, bluegrass, folk, and jam band scenes.” Their music, described as “rootsy with an edge,” offers a rich blend of new old-time and folk rock, seasoned with a touch of classic country.
“We’re thrilled to kick off the very first WA Local Concert and it’s an honor to open for the Randall Wolf Band,” Trenerry said. “Field Hall is a Port Angeles gem.”
The second WA Local Concert at Field Hall will feature the Olympic Express Big Band on Saturday, Oct. 21.
