The first of what organizers hope to be an annual event, Soupstock brings a slew of local favorites to the stage to raise funds for the Sequim Food Bank on Friday, Nov. 11.
Jason Paul & Friends, The Buck Ellard Country Band, The Jean Lenke Jazz Band and The FarmStrong Bluegrass Band are all set to entertain at the event set for 5-9 p.m. at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road. Music stylings include folk, jazz, bluegrass and more.
This event includes a community soup and dessert dinner provided with admission, which is by donation, organizers note. Canned good donations may be dropped off in the front lobby.
Admission is by donation ($20 suggested).
All benefit proceeds go to the Sequim Food Bank as a gift, and organizers note there is a $5,000 “challenge match” included: Each dollar collected though donations and sponsorship will be matched up to $5,000.
“We hope this event will spread awareness of the many programs we have, like the Family Holiday Meals and the Weekend Meal Bags for Kids, and inspire people to support our vision that ‘No One Goes Hungry in Our Community’,” said Andra Smith, executive director of the Sequim Food Bank.
“We are so grateful to Jean Lenke and her team for putting on this special benefit event and for the entire Sequim community and their ongoing support of the Sequim Food Bank.”
