Peninsula College invites community members to its third-annual Fall Spectacular, set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at its Port Angeles campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Admission and all activities — except food and drink purchases — are free and open to the public.
The family-friendly event includes activities for all ages. Guests can wander through campus and enjoy live music, interactive community booths, faculty-led classroom demonstrations and lectures, food vendors and a beer garden.
For the adventurous, attendees can check out a rock-climbing wall, obstacle course, yard games and giant inflatables. In the library, children can hear story time, while outside they can do fun activities like face painting, arts and crafts, bounce houses and sand sculpting.
Bill Dow, an award-winning and nationally renowned sand sculptor will use water, sand and compaction to create a professional-grade sand sculpture on the campus quad. Youngsters can build their own sand creations in a temporary sand box nearby.
Attendees may enter to win event swag, and the Peninsula College Foundation will be giving away a new laptop each hour beginning at noon. Guests can stop by the Welcome Table to enter.
Scheduled bands include Joy in Mudville, Tex & Ted Duo, and Sound Advice. The Lower Elwha Klallam Song and Drum group will also be performing.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the community to our third annual Fall Spectacular,” said Dr. Suzy Ames, president of Peninsula College.
