Guest speaker Linda Debe will offer “Google My Maps: Visualizing Our Ancestors’ Lives” at the next Clallam County Genealogical Society meeting set for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Clallam County Research Center, 403 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles.
There is no charge for attending the program.
Known as “The Sleepless Genealogist,” Debe will help attendees learn about “Google My Maps,” a tool in the Google app package that helps visualize one’s ancestor’s lives from migration patterns, gives cemetery locations, helps with trip planning and helps users decide if documents and facts are really plausible for an ancestor.
Debe is a lecturer, writer, and lifelong student with more than 40 years of genealogical research experience. She holds a degree in electronics technology and has graduated from the ProGen 54 Study Group as a part of her continual education and studies.
A brief meeting will begin the event, followed with Linda’s presentation. The Zoom meeting number and passcode will be made available by emailing the society at askus@clallamcogs.org or by calling 360-417-5000 between 10 a.m.-4 p.m., uesday-Friday, or noon-4 p.m. on Saturdays.
