Get up-close look at creative works of the Rain Shadow Artisans

Check out handcrafted works with a local focus at the Rain Shadow Artisans’ juried art show and market set for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Dungeness River Nature Center, 1943 W. Hendrickson Road.

This is a juried art show, meaning all artisans have passed a selection process to show and sell at the market.

Several of the artisans will also be demonstrating/explaining their craftsmanship to interested visitors. This includes:

• Art Brooks of Upper Left Corner Pottery. A potter for more than five decades, Brooks will be available to discuss his unique styles and colors, developed over time in his home studio.

• Larry Gonzales of By The Sea. Gonzales creates relief carvings from the wood local to the Pacific Northwest. His wife Linda helps inspire marine, wildlife and flora designs.

• Linda B. Myers and Heidi Hansen, both with Olympic Peninsula Authors. The pair will answer questions on how you can move your written words forward toward publication. Myers will also introduce a new book of articles from the Sequim Gazette.

• Paulette Hill of Paulette’s By Design. A jewelry artist, Hill’s designs combine wire wrapping, unique stones and elegant beaded accessories.
