Go tidepooling in Clallam Bay with NOLS program

As part of the Summer Reading Program, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is partnering with Feiro Marine Life Center to provide a morning of “Tidepool Exploration” on Monday, July 26.

People of all ages are invited to learn about sea stars, anemones and other treasures of the Salish Sea with Feiro educators.

The event begin at 9 a.m. at Slip Point Lighthouse in Clallam Bay. Registration is required. Register at nols.org or stop by a local NOLS branch library.

Participants are to meet at the lighthouse at the end of Frontier Street and should wear sturdy, nonslip shoes. Masks are encouraged, but not required.

Youth 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Feiro Marine Life Center is located on the Port Angeles City Pier and provides local marine and watershed learning experiences.

Sign up for the Summer Reading Program at nols.org/srp or at a local NOLS library branch to join the Summer Reading Challenge. For every 30 days you read, you can receive an entry into the grand prize drawing (up to two entries).

Each grand prize drawing winner will be able to select one of the following prizes: a $100 gift card to a local book store or restaurant, or a LEGO set (up to $100 in value).

Read for 30 days and earn a color-by-number Summer Reading Challenge T-shirt — express your creativity by filling it in yourself. Track your reading through Aug. 20.

Summer Reading Program grand prizes, T-shirts, books and events are generously supported by Friends of the Library groups at all four NOLS branches.
