Halloween: A night for all ages in Sequim

Here are Sequim’s upcoming Halloween and Harvest events for children and adults.

 

Through Halloween, Oct. 31

• Pick a pumpkin

The Pumpkin Patch, at the corner of Kitchen-Dick and U.S. Highway 101, is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays; 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; U-pick pumpkins, corn maze, pumpkin shoot, haunted house (Friday-Saturday). For more information, call 461-0940. Fees apply.

 

Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31

• Merchants unite for candy

From 3-5 p.m. trick-or-treaters can look for a pumpkin in the window of participating businesses. Those include: A Dropped Stitch, Blue Whole Gallery, Castell Insurance, Clallam Title, Cobalt Mortgage, Colors of Sequim, Co-op Farm & Garden, Crumb Grabbers Bakery, Doodlebugs, Dungeness Kids, Field Notes, both branches of First Federal, Heather Creek, Hurricane Coffee and Joyful Noise.

Also handing out treats are LARC Gallery, Maggie May’s Espresso & Outfitter, Oasis Sports Bar & Grill, Over the Fence, Pacific Mist Books, Peter Black Real Estate, Pondicherri, Prairie Springs Assisted Living, Red Rooster Grocery, Sequim Gazette, Sequim Library, Sequim Olympic Lanes, Sequim Tax Service, Sequim Vision Clinic, Solar City, State Farm, Sunshine Cafe, That Takes the Cake, The Good Book, Thomas Building Center, Tootsie’s, U.S. Bank, White Cup Espresso and Wind Rose Cellars.

The event is sponsored by the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.

 

• Take a cake walk at Hallow’d Eve Fest

Faith Lutheran Church, 382 W. Cedar St., brings back its Hallow’d Eve Harvest Festival from 5-6:30 p.m. The free event features games, prizes, candy, a cake walk and a cooking contest featuring pasta. The Olympic Mountain Cloggers perform 5:30-6:30 p.m. Church appropriate costumes welcome. Call 683-4803 for more information.

 

• Trunk-or-treat at Olympic View  

The Olympic View Church of God, at the intersection of Brown Road and Fir Street, hosts its fourth Trunk-or-Treat from 5-7 p.m. This free event is open to the whole community to enjoy a safe, family friendly event that includes hayrides, food/drinks and treats for children. • Bash continues at King’s Way

King’s Way Foursquare Church, 1023 Kitchen-Dick Road, continues its free “Bash” from 5-8 p.m. with pony rides, plenty of games like glow-in-the-dark bowling and more. Candy and prizes awarded for participation. Friendly costumes are welcome. For more information, call 683-8020.

 

• Church goes to the Wild West for harvest

Sequim Valley Church of the Nazarene, 481 Carlsborg Road, Sequim, hosts a free Wild West Harvest Party with games and candy for children through sixth grade from 6-8 p.m. Organizers ask no scary costumes be worn. For more information, call 683-8642.

 

• Harvest Party hosts children’s games

First Baptist Church of Sequim, 1323 Sequim-Dungeness Way, brings back its Children’s Harvest Party from 6-9 p.m. for preschoolers through elementary school with multiple free activities like a space walk, crazy ducks and more with prizes awarded for games and for wearing costumes. A “Spiders and Bats Café” offers free refreshments along with a Trunk-a-Treat candy. For information, call the church at 683-2114.

 

• Boys & Girls Club go ‘Boo’

The Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., offers games, a haunted house and candy for children at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $2. Parental discretion advised for haunted house.

 

• Jam with Joy in Mudville

Blondie’s Plate, 134 S. Second Ave., Sequim, hosts Joy in Mudville, an eclectic rock/funk band, from 8-11 p.m. No cover. Prizes for costumes. Reservations recommended.

 

• Oasis’ music, costume contest

The Oasis Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St., hosts DJ O.B.1. at 9 p.m. with a costume contest for prizes.

 

Friday, Nov. 8

• Find fun at Family Festival

Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave., celebrates fall with a family festival from 6-8 p.m. with free contests, games, food and fun for the whole family. For more information, call 683-4194.
