Jingle Jazz is back! Building on its sell-out performance last year for its inaugural Jingle Jazz Holiday Concert, the Peninsula College Vocal Jazz Ensemble promises this year’s program will be even bigger and better.

Slated for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in the college’s Little Theater, the concert is a “must-see” for anyone who wants to open the holiday season with style, verve and song. And once again the concert will benefit a great cause — the Peninsula College Foundation. Olympic Cellars Winery is the presenting sponsor.

Elaine Gardner-Morales, director of the Ensemble, says the concert will include a variety of jazz styles, from Latin and fast swing tunes to classical arrangements. The group tunes, she notes, “are cutting edge in terms of harmonization” and include modern arrangements of classic jazz literature.

Appearing this year as a special guest artist is soloist Amanda Lynn Bacon. Vocal Jazz Ensemble members include Gabe Bagno, Ryan Becker, Daniel Camper, Sierra Fairchild, Randall Gonzales, Alexis Haman, Sam Hegarty, Brandi Larson, Joey Laungayan, Janet Lucas, Dana Marklund, Tyler Napiontek, Jessie Spicher, Nicole Stidham and Marissa Wilson. The singers will be accompanied by a jazz combo with Terry Smith on drums, Ted Enderle at bass, Al Harris on piano and Craig Buhler on saxophone. The family-friendly program includes tunes that will be sung by the entire Ensemble and a number of solos and duets.

Tickets may be purchased online for $10 through the Peninsula College Foundation website at pencol.edu/foundation or through Brown Paper Tickets or at the door for $15. Proceeds will benefit the Peninsula College Foundation. The concert also will be broadcast live by KONP radio.
