After a month on display for locals and visitors to see and play, the painted pianos through the Keying Around art program went to silent auction on Aug. 5. Two of three pianos sold for $500 and $600 each with some funding supporting the City of Sequim Arts Commission’s projects and the Sequim School District’s art and music programs. The third piano will be used for promoting future events and moved around the City of Sequim, city volunteers said.

The donated pianos, painted by organizer Natalie Andrzejeski, Larry White and Todd Fischer, and The Art Jam collective, debuted on July 1 at the First Friday Art Walk and were sold at its August event. Langlois Pianos has moved the pianos for the event.

“The community received it well for its first year,” Andrezejeski said.
