As volunteers at KSQM 91.5 FM commemorate Pearl Harbor Day with special programming this week, they’ll also open the community radio station headquarters to an open house.
KSQM invites the community to enjoy tours and go “behind the scenes” about the station from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the studios located at 609 W. Washington St., #17 in the Sequim Village Shopping Center. Volunteers are marking the 15th anniversary of the nonprofit organization.
As the voice for more 150 local nonprofit organizations, KSQM 91.5 FM looks to keep residents informed of local events and emergency situations. The stations more than 100 volunteers work with Clallam County Fire District 3, Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 (PUD) and emergency service entities.
KSQM’s 2023 Fall Fund Drive raised $56,000 and included one anonymous donor who gifted $15,000.
“That anonymous donor stated that their primary reason for the gift was KSQM’s goal to be a resource available to our community in the event of catastrophe,” KSQM representatives noted in a press release.
