Cheer the hero, boo the villain and sigh for the damsel in what Olympic Theatre Arts representatives call a “hilarious, over-the-top melodrama based on the mythical history of the Pacific Northwest and Sequim.”

OTA’s “Lavender Melodrama” hits the stage at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays, during its July 7-24 run at OTA, 414 N. Sequim Ave.

Tickets are $20, $15 for students.

Written and directed by OTA Executive Director David Herbelin, the purpose of this show, OTA representatives said, is pure entertainment.

”This is sure to become a new annual tradition getting more convoluted year after year as the myths live on,” they said. “Filled with music and mayhem this action packed, suspense-filled tale is a laugh a minute.”

Supported by the local lavender community, OTA’s Gathering Hall will act as an information center to learn more about the local farms and industry.
