Home gardeners can learn how to grow and cook with leeks from veteran Master Gardener Muriel Nesbitt at noon Thursday, Sept. 14, in the county commissioners’ meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse in Port Angeles.
This presentation is part of the Green Thumb Garden Tips education series sponsored by the WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners.
Nesbitt will present information about leek varieties that will thrive on the Olympic Peninsula, along with growing requirements and cultivation methods for leeks. She will also present suggestions for their culinary use.

She directed the Clallam County Master Gardener program from 2009-2012. She is a frequent speaker on sustainable growing and instructor for the Master Gardener intern training.
