On Saturday, Dec. 14, Lukas Allenbaugh of Clay Animation Network (CAN) will visit the North Olympic Library System’s Port Angeles and Sequim libraries to work with participants ages 9-14 on making a stop-motion animation using Lego blocks and digital cameras.

Sequim Library will start at 10:30 a.m. The workshop at the Port Angeles Library will begin at 3 p.m.

At the end of each 2-hour workshop, participants will have made their own short movie. Space is limited for this event and so pre-reregistration is required.

The Clay Animation Network is a traveling animation school created and run by Allenbaugh.

A former elementary school teacher and artist-in-residence, Allenbaugh started CAN to create an environment where young people have fun while learning how animation directly integrates into various academic, theatrical and visual arts disciplines in a seamless manner. Animation offers infinite storyline possibilities and incorporates math, physics and language arts concepts.
