Library screens ‘New Year’s Eve’ for teens

Teens ages 13 and up can ring in the New Year a few days early at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, with the Teen Friday Movie for December, "New Year’s Eve." The PG-rated film screens free at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

On movie nights only the meeting room and lobby of the library are open.

Staff supervise the event and movie-type refreshments are provided.

Set during New Year’s Eve in New York City, this movie follows several people through the day. Kim is a single mother; chef Laura is cooking for a record label’s New Year’s Eve party; and Griffin and Tess want to have the first baby of the new year and win a cash prize. The movie is full of laughter and a little bit of romance.

Originally suggested by the Library’s Young Adult Advisory Council as a way for the library to be a community gathering place for teens where they can be with their friends, the Friday Movie program provides a safe and free entertainment option for teens. Many movies that are shown are based upon books found in the library. All the movies shown are available for checkout.
