Get your garden off to a great start this year with perennials, veggies and herb starts, native plants and more at the Master Gardener Foundation of Clallam County Spring Plant Sale, set for Saturday, May 4, at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim.
The sale runs 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., then a lunch break from 12:30-1 p.m., followed by the half-price sale from 1-3 p.m.
Get veggies for your salad bowl with tomato, lettuce, pepper and cucumber starts, or add flavor to dishes with a purchases of fresh herb starts such as oregano, thyme, sage and rosemary.
Gardeners can establish a four-season garden with shrubs that have different bloom-times and colors for each season such as blue elderberry, mock orange and red osier dogwood.
Or, they can get pollinator and bird-friendly varieties to plant like asters, daisies, thimbleberry and red elderberry.
The General Store has gardening gifts and gently used tools and supplies, and Petals & Pathways Garden Tour tickets will also be on sale for $20.
Questions about plant purchases? Ask away, as Clallam County Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to give free advice and field questions about garden greenery.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Parking is available both in the west entrance lot and adjacent to Buttercup Lane.
All proceeds from the sale help to maintain the 2.4-acre Woodcock Demonstration Garden and the 5th Street Community Garden demonstration in Port Angeles. Funds from the plant sale also support the numerous Master Gardener community services such as the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) in local schools, as well as Green Thumb Education Series and Digging Deeper presentations.
