A total of $12,300 has been donated this year to 14 nonprofits on the Olympic Peninsula, thanks to sales generated by last winter’s Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church Yuletide Bazaar.
Recipients of funds from the 2023 bazaar include: Clallam-Jefferson Pro Bono Attorneys; First Step Family Support Center; KSQM 91.5 FM; Mariposa House; Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County; North Olympic Foster Parent Association; ParentLine; Peninsula Behavioral Health; Planned Parenthood’s Port Angeles Health Clinic; Joe Rantz Rotary Youth Fund; Sarge’s Place/NORVHN; Sequim Food Bank; TAFY/The Answer for Youth, and Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.
This year’s bazaar, scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the church at 925 N. Sequim Ave., will again feature baked goods, vintage silver, crystal and ceramics and such handcrafts as table and kitchen linens, jewelry, baby gifts, decorative items, note cards, knitwear, holiday ornaments and gifts.
As in past years, all proceeds support community nonprofits, especially those that assist women, children and veterans.
The Yuletide Bazaar originated decades ago when a group of Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church members formed a craft circle. This group, which meets at least twice monthly throughout the year to create items, is open to all, regardless of church membership.
