Ted and Philomena Lund of Sequim celebrated 50 years of marriage in July.

They were married July 1, 1972, in Idaho and celebrated their recent anniversary with nearly 100 friends and family in Sequim.

The couple has lived in southern California (Marine country), Moscow, Idaho; Cambridge, Iowa; Cortland, Ill.; Okemos, Mich.; Spencer Iowa; Moses Lake, and Spokane; before moving to Sequim in 2015.

Ted was a plant breeder for 30 years developing new hybrids of corn, peas, and beans. Philomena was a homemaker focusing on their children, and hundreds more in schools, while working with service groups, churches, and nonprofits.

The Lunds have three children and five grandsons.
