Milestone: OMC celebrates housekeeping, laundry services team

Olympic Medical Center (OMC) recently acknowledged the accomplishments of our housekeeping and laundry teams who received an OMC Employee Recognition Award for the level or professionalism and commitment they bring to the organization.

These teams, OMC representatives said, ensure patient areas and community spaces throughout the organization’s clinics and hospital exceed expectations, including cleaning and disinfecting clinical, handling hazardous spills and laundering more than 4,200 pounds of laundry each day.

“It takes a village to run healthcare facilities, and our housekeeping and laundry teams are part of the foundation that makes sure we can provide excellent healthcare,” said Julie Black, OMC’s director of support services. “Their level of commitment encompasses the OMC way.”

Dr. Scott Kennedy, Chief Medical Officer at Olympic Medical Center, praised the teams saying, “

Environmental Services and Laundry are services essential to jobs being done in a hospital,” Dr. Scott Kennedy, Chief Medical Officer at Olympic Medical Center, told team members. “You make a big difference, and we’re thankful for your effort.”

Board member Philip Guintolli added that in his experience of visiting dozens of hospitals over this career as an architect, it is evident that OMC’s laundry and environmental services team care about the work they do.

“The reflection that comes back to anyone who walks into an OMC building is always excellent,” Guintolli said.
