Mason Rapelje was recently named the Sequim Elks Lodge’s first Student of the Month for the 2024-25 school year.
The son of Linsay and Isaac Rapelje, Mason is a sophomore from Sequim High School and carries a 4.0 grade-point-average.
A Sequim resident his entire life, Rapelje said his favorite subjects are math and science. His present courses include University of Washington pre-calculus and UW chemistry, Advance Placement seminar and world history, weight training and Spanish II. He is also a member of the Interact Club. At Sequim High, Rapelje plays basketball, tennis and soccer.
While not in school, he enjoys river fishing, tying lures, stock investing and, along with two friends, running a landscaping business.
Rapelje plans on attending a four-year university and possibly playing basketball. He would like to major in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)-focused degree in the medical field, or engineering.
