James P. and Lidona (“Dona”) J. Shelley will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 14.

Dona was born in Tacoma and Jim was born in Everett, Mass. They have four sons from previous marriages — Michael Bridges and David Bridges

(Lori), and Jim Shelley (Kirstin) and Chris Shelley (Cody) — as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim and Dona met while Jim was stationed at the McChord Air Force base and soon after were married. After his discharge, Jim went to work for the BNSF Railroad, finally retiring after 31 years.

They moved to Sequim in 2002 and now enjoy walking the beach, admiring the beautiful mountains and planning their next 50 years.

Jim and Dona thank families and friends for making their past 50 years very special.
