Milestone: Sequim Elks select Salas for Student of Month honor

Ariana Salas is the Sequim Elks Lodge’s Student of the Month for May 2023.

A sophomore at Sequim High School and the daughter of Alma Salas and Isaac Bajo, she moved to Sequim two years ago from Arizona.

Salas is trilingual — English, Spanish and American Sign Language. At SHS, she plays on the tennis team, runs cross country and is a member of the book club, and is a manager for the boys basketball team.

Her hobbies include crocheting, listening to music and going to the lake.

Salas’ classes include “Project Lead The Way” (PLTW) Bio Med Science, modern world history, Advanced Placement Spanish language and culture, honors ELA, geometry and teacher assistant.

Her future plans include attending a university and traveling.
