Members of the Rotary Club of Sequim recently presented a gift of $3,000 for youth programs at the Carroll C Kendall Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula.
The club has been meeting in person since July of 2021 at the Big Elk Restaurant on the corner of East Washington Street and Brown Road, and have continued to use Zoom for online attendees.
Members are also working on a new program of mapping all automated external defibrillator (AED) units located in downtown Sequim businesses and public buildings. Starting from zero, they are visiting businesses and government offices to add 22 AEDs to the Pulsepoint app, which can be downloaded on any smart phone. They are seeking additional AED locations and more information about the AEDs in listed locations.
Businesses with AEDs can have theirs listed by emailing sequimrotary@gmail.com and a member will visit to take a photo of the business and upload it to the Pulsepoint app.
Club members have in recent years gifted several adaptive bikes to physically challenged students in the Sequim School District, and they also enjoy supporting other local, regional, and international service projects, members said. The club also plans to offer their annual salmon bake in August of this year.
All are welcome to Rotary Club of Sequim meetings.
