H’Sao, a Montreal-based band originally from Chad (pictured above), brings its catchy choreography and Afro-fusion/Afro-jazz to Port Angeles on Thursday, Jan. 15. Brothers Caleb (guitar), Mossbass (bass) and Izra (keyboard), alongside childhood friend Dono (drums), play at Peninsula College’s Little Theater at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 and $10 for 14 and under and are available online at jffa.org, Port Book and News in Port Angeles and Joyful Noise Music in Sequim.
The band draws from gospel, soul, R&B, reggae and Chadian music and have been featured at festivals throughout the world. Prior to the evening performance, the band plays at Dry Creek Elementary School in Port Angeles.
The rich sounds of the recorder, harpsichord, cello and violin will fill Maier Performance Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 20, when Peninsula College’s Maier Hall Concert Series presents the widely acclaimed Ensemble Electra from Seattle (in photo at right).
