The 2024 Clallam County Fair seeks nominations for the 2024 Farm Family of the Year.

This award is to honor a Clallam County Farm that epitomizes the spirit of the industry, to show appreciation for hardworking Clallam County Farm families committed to the agriculture and aquaculture of Clallam County.

Farm families may nominate themselves.

Deadline for nominations is June 1.

The Farm Family of the Year will be selected and notified by Aug. 1, and that family will receive free admission for all days of fair (up to 10 individuals) and two adult fair T-shirts for the 2024 county fair.

Nominations need to include details about the farm, how the family is incorporated, and how they fulfill the following criteria:

• production of Clallam County-grown products (not based on quantity)

• community involvement (civic organizations, school, sports, etc.)

• involvement in agriculture industry organizations (local, state and federal)

• overall farm family image, farming history and unique or special production

Pictures in applications are optional, but will not affect the outcome, organizers note.

Along with nomination of farm, list person nominating and contact information. Also include contact name for farm, farm contact mailing address, farm contact phone number and email.

The Clark Family Farm was awarded the first Farm Family of the Year, followed by Sunny Farms and last year’s winner, the Bekkevar Family Farm.
