Contributor Kip Tulin captured this scene in Dungeness Harbor on Aug. 15 as he was prepping his boat for a row on the water.
Water sports aficionados can join Tulin out on the water at the annual Reach and Row for Hospice event, which kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, with a rowing and paddling competition.
The race is open to all craft powered with oars or paddles: rowboats, kayaks, paddleboards, inflatables and shells. (The event’s second day of competition on Sept. 23 features sailboat racing.)
Funds raised from the Reach and Row go to respite care for Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.
