The Puget Sound Anglers – North Olympic Peninsula Chapter hosts the club’s annual fundraiser auction and dinner, starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Sunland Golf and Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive, Sequim.
The auction/dinner is open to all members and friends of the club. Proceeds from this auction provide the majority of funding for the annual Olympic Peninsula Kids Fishing Program held at the Sequim water reclamation pond at Carrie Blake Park in May, and for the natural resource scholarships awarded to area school students.
This year’s Kids Fishing Day is May 20.
Tickets are $16 each and are available by email at webmaster@psanopc.org (preferred), or by calling 681-4768. Ticketholders are entered to win a door prize.
Attendance is limited to 180.
The silent auction, open from 4:30 p.m. until about 8 p.m., and the raffle drawings offer a wide assortment of sports merchandise and fishing trips.
Dinner — a spaghetti buffet with red sauce or white clam sauce, garlic bread, tossed salad and dessert, with coffee and bottled water provided — is set for 5:30-7 p.m., followed by the live auction. Live auction items include fishing trips with renowned guides on Olympic Peninsula rivers for salmon and steelhead and charter boat trips for salmon, halibut and/or bottom fish out of Pacific Ocean ports and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It also features saltwater trips offered by club members departing out of Port Angeles, Sequim or Sekiu for salmon, plus custom rods, tackle and local business gift certificates.
There will be a “no host” cash bar for purchase of spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks.
The North Olympic Peninsula Chapter of Puget Sound Anglers is a certified publicly supported organization with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
